I can't centrally approve Google Play Store apps from Manager

Applies to: Manager app management; Google Admin boundary

Issue

You expect to approve Google Play Store apps for your device fleet from Manager, but the option is not available or does not behave as expected.

What to check first

Work through these steps in order:

  1. Review what Manager's app management actually supports for your devices: installing, uninstalling, and showing or hiding apps that are already available or uploaded.

  2. Check whether Play Store app approval for your devices is instead controlled through Google Admin / Google Workspace, which is common for Google EDLA-enrolled deployments.

  3. Note the specific app and the exact place in Manager where you expected to find an approval option.

Additional notes

Some additional points that may be useful:

  • This is a responsibility-boundary question rather than a product failure. The exact division between what Manager controls and what Google Admin controls for Play Store approval has not yet been confirmed for this workbook.

When to contact Support

Contact Support if you are unsure whether an app-approval task belongs to Manager or to Google Admin for your deployment. This boundary is still being confirmed and will be updated once validated.
